TO (potential) STUDENTS The term "student" is used here to mean both
First, let me suggest that you take a look at "What is CMDL?" (by clicking on the blue words. This will give you an introduction to CMDL as a teaching tool. There is no need to repeat here the various advantages of this self-study tool that are listed there (in fact one of the advantages of the internet is the ability to easily link to external material, rather than including it in a presentation). I hope that while reading this introduction, you'll be thinking about your own needs in education and training and decide to what extent you can benefit by taking one of the CMDL courses offered by CMDL E&T. if we can help you achieve educational goals---get in touch with us. Although I am not sending you there, it is not forbidden to peek at my address to (active and potential) instructors of CMDL courses?.. (again, by clicking on the blue words). You'll find there how CMDL courses are prepared to accommodate the needs of students who decide to take CMDL courses. If you are a professional/practitioner, you have no doubt felt the need to learn more in your area of interest, to update and upgrade your knowledge, to learn new skills, etc. Short (usually one week) course are the main tool for achieving such goals. Obviously, you can always use books and journal articles to achieve the same goals. However, I do not have to tell you that this is not an easy task, especially because the material was not prepared for this purpose. So you have no other choice but to travel to some (usually) remote location and take a short course, compressed into 3-5 days. Without any other alternative, this is obviously better than doing nothing. However, now you have another option---register to a CMDL course. You'll obviously miss the social aspects of a short course away from home ., but you'll achieve the same goals, get a better training, and at a lower cost! If this brief exposure to the CMDL technology seems to suit your need (and at this stage, there is no need for you to be certain about this), please get in touch with us. I'll be glad to discuss your needs with you. Jacob Bear CMDL E&T Director for Academic Affairs and Publications. |
